Washington-based truckbuilder Paccar Inc. said it is making a $1-million contribution to the American Red Cross’ Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund to support humanitarian efforts for those impacted in the United States Gulf Coast area.

Coordinating with other relief agencies, the American Red Cross is delivering critical aid to this region, including food, shelter and other relief supplies.
Paccar manufactures and distributes premium commercial vehicles and aftermarket parts to customers in more than 100 countries, with its largest market in the United States.
"The hurricane has had a terrible impact throughout the Gulf Coast area," said Mark C. Pigott, chairman and chief executive officer. "All Paccar employees worldwide send their prayers and support to the families impacted by the devastation."
