Tom Plimpton, president of Paccar, will be the keynote speaker at the Annual Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA) Breakfast & Briefing from 7 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 28, at the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) in Louisville, Ky.

"We are extremely pleased to have Tom return to be our guest speaker," said Joe McAleese, president and CEO of Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems and 2008 HDMA chairman. "In his previous presentation, Tom changed the typical format for the breakfast presentation and chose to speak directly with the suppliers about how they and Paccar could better work together," he added.
Plimpton has corporate responsibility for Kenworth Truck Co., Paccar Mexico, Paccar International and worldwide purchasing and information technology. He began his career in the truck industry more than 28 years ago in Kansas City.
He worked at three truck manufacturing plants and at three truck divisions for Paccar, including four years in England at Paccar's Foden Truck Co. In January 1992, while working as assistant general manager for Peterbilt in Newark, Calif., he was promoted to general manager, a position he held until 1996 when he assumed his current role.
Doors will open for the breakfast buffet at 7 a.m. The program will begin promptly at 8 a.m. and will end by 9:30 a.m. to allow exhibitor personnel to be in their booths by show opening time.
"Our annual Breakfast & Briefing is a highly popular event that attracts a diverse audience of supplier, media and truck manufacturer executives and other personnel," said Tim Kraus, HDMA president and COO.
Tables of eight at the annual HDMA event will feature corporate logos and can be reserved for $525. Individual tickets can be purchased for $36.95. A variety of sponsorship opportunities are also available.
Registration information is available at www.hdma.org.
Interested attendees are urged to register as soon as possible. For information on sponsorships, contact Mark Iasiello at (919) 406-8823 or miasiello@hdma.org.
