During the opening general session of Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week 2010, industry expert Stuart MacKay, president and founder of MacKay and Co., will discuss why the current market may prove to be an opportunity

, while also covering the industry's current state and where it is headed.

HDAW '10, which will take place at the Mirage in Las Vegas Jan. 18 through Jan. 21, 2010.

MacKay has contacted 600 fleets and 200 distributors to examine more closely the reasons behind the market share shifts in heavy-duty distribution over the past 20 years. He will discuss how and why truck fleet management choose their parts and service providers.

This will be followed by a discussion between MacKay, Terry Dotson, president and CEO of WorldWide Equipment, a truck dealer, and William (Bill) Ryan, chairman and CEO of Point Spring & Driveshaft Company, a distributor.

Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week is the largest North American gathering of the independent heavy-duty industry. More than 1,400 managers and executives from 17 countries - including distributors, manufacturers, service providers, educators and media - attended the 2009 conference in Orlando. An even larger group is expected for the 2010 event.
