The NTE Public Exchange had its strongest month ever in June, as shipment tenders via the company's public marketplace grew by 15 percent over the previous month.

Tenders in the second quarter ended June 30 rose by 40 percent compared to the previous quarter.
"The opportunity to book freight quickly and easily through NTE has never been better," said Jim Matt, NTE vice president of sales, operations and customer support. "Carriers now have visibility to hundreds of shipments daily through NTE. With a sluggish economy and the traditional summer slowdown in transportation services, NTE offers an efficient and potentially fruitful means for carriers to fill capacity."
For higher revenue producing truckload (TL) freight, tenders rose 25 percent over the previous month and 70 percent compared to the first quarter. Today, about two-thirds of all freight tendered through the NTE Exchange is for TL shipments, which earn carriers about $1.05 per mile on average and travel an average distance of about 825 miles.
NTE attributed the surge in tenders to growing acceptance by both carriers and shippers of Internet-based, electronic-commerce solutions. In the past quarter, more than 60 shippers joined NTE's member-based transportation community.
NTE also announced new search capabilities to make it easier for carriers to book shipments. At www.nte.com, carriers now can identify loads nationwide by rate per mile, pickup or delivery data, distance or total revenue. Previously they had to search state-by-state.
