A helping hand with college tuition is the prize for one student who applies for the 2007 National Trailer Dealers Association (NTDA) Scholarship Program.
For a fifth year, the scholarship program is being underwritten by Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire This year the scholarship is worth $7,500.
The NTDA Scholarship Program is based on academic capability, financial need, personal and school references, participation in school and community activities and work experience. All NTDA member company employees and their children are eligible to apply.
Applications and supporting materials (i.e., letters of recommendation, transcripts and other required documentation) must be postmarked no later than Friday, June 29, 2007. Late submissions will not be considered.
Criteria are evaluated by a panel of judges from the NTDA and other industry trade associations using a weighted scoring system, with financial need receiving 50% of the total consideration. Academic and community activities are given equal weighting/consideration.
Daniel Iacob, son of Mircea and Lidia Iacob, was awarded the 2006 NTDA Scholarship. He is currently attending Missouri State University. Mircea is a welder for Ridewell Suspensions in Springfield.
