NTDA Awards Scholarship, Names New Leaders
The National Trailer Dealers Association met at The Westin Resort in Hilton Head Island, S.C

last month, the association’s 15th anniversary.
Immediate Past President Jennifer Blount announced the winner of the NTDA Scholarship Program. Alecia Hagen, daughter of Wesley D. Hagen, outside parts salesman for Wallwork Truck Center in Fargo, North Dakota. The scholarship program is underwritten by Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire LLC.
Blount, president of Carpet Trailers Sales, Inc., Dalton, Ga., turned over the presidential gavel to Don Cartwright, president of Cartwright Trailer Sales & Service, Amarillo, Texas. Cartwright presented Blount with a plaque honoring her service. Blount had served as NTDA President from 1993 to 1994. During her second tenure on the Board, Jennifer spearheaded the Bylaws Committee and served on the Membership Recruiting and Scholarship Committees. She also served as Convention Chairperson and as Second and First Vice President.
Four dealer members retired from the association’s board of directors: Jennifer Blount; Terry Donahue, president of Shamrock Utility Sales, Inc., New Stanton, Pa.; Robert Hesseling, general sales manager and treasurer of E&R Trailer Sales & Leasing, Middle Point, Ohio and Kenneth Rohr, president of Ken’s Truck Repair, Chebanse, Ill. NTDA’s officers are: president, Don Cartwright; first vice president, Alan Sims, Randall Publishing, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; second vice president, Jon Comeford, Utility Trailers of NE, Inc., Seabrook, N.H,; treasurer/secretary, Angelo Ciciretto, Markham Equipment Sales Ltd., Gormley, Ont., Canada.
NTDA’s dealer directors are: Holly Hale, Country Supply, Inc., Manteno, Ill.; Bill Huffaker, Trailer Sales of Tennessee, Nashville, Tenn.; John Northcutt, Northstar Equipment Corp., Jefferson, Ga.; Elvin Spellman, Spellman Trailers, Inc., Franklin, Wis.; Dennis VanLannen, Trudell Trailers, Green Bay, Wis.; Peter Verbeeck, Utility Trailer Sales & Leasing, Hialeah, Fla.

The association announced a plan to increase membership from the current 300-plus to 500 total by its next convention set for Oct. 5-8, 2005 in Reno, Nev.
