Tom Moore has been promoted to senior vice president of the National Private Truck Council.

Moore joined NPTC on a full-time basis in 2007 and has a 30-year history with the private truck industry.
Moore joined NPTC on a full-time basis in 2007 and has a 30-year history with the private truck industry. Following graduation as a political science major from Wake Forest University, he joined the staff of the American Trucking Associations working with the Private Carrier Conference. He later became editor of the Private Carrier magazine and then executive director of the National Private Trucking Association, which merged with the Private Truck Council of America to become the National Private Truck Council in 1989.
In the past several years, Moore has assumed several important roles for NPTC: managing director of the Private Fleet Management Institute; management of the Certified Transportation Professional program (he earned his CTP in 1997); author of training materials for NPTC including the core subjects for the Private Fleet Management Online program; staff support for the Conference Planning Committee, Safety Committee, and NPTC Board of Governors in planning the annual conference, the national safety conference and the Private Fleet Management Institute; panelist for the NPTC/JJ Keller training webcast series; on-location visits with dozens of NPTC members each year, and serving as a member of the council's staff leadership team.
