Bethel, Penn.-based truckload carrier K.L. Harring Transportation has announced a driver pay raise that increases the base pay rate for team drivers to 70 cents per mile.

The company has also enhanced its overall compensation package with the goal of making its drivers among the highest paid in the U.S.

Under the new pay plan, K.L Harring Transportation team drivers will also be eligible for pay incentives related to fuel savings and safe operation, each paid on a quarterly basis, which can add up to 4 cents per mile to the base rate. K.L. Harring has also increased its weekly guaranteed minimum pay to $1,600 per driver for each week out on the road, regardless of the number of miles driven.

“We want to reward our drivers for their continued great work, and we want to have a highly competitive compensation program in place that will allow us to continue to welcome experienced team drivers into what we feel is one of the nation’s most elite fleets,” said Keith Harring, K.L. Harring president. “Our company is driver-built and team-driven. We have a growing company, and we make every effort to build lasting relationships with our drivers.”

K.L. Harring Transportation also provides four health benefit package options, weekly driver settlements, paid vacation, paid holidays and birthdays, referral bonuses, retirement contributions by the company. The company has also revamped its to its per diem plus mileage program to will help to offset the loss of the per diem tax deduction resulting from the tax reform implementation in 2017. The K.L. Harring Transportation per diem plus mileage program is offered with no administrative costs to drivers, and it is an optional program.

“For us, it’s all about our drivers,” said Harring. “We don’t believe in gimmicks. We don’t believe in putting carrots on sticks. We’ve developed an elite pay package because our drivers are elite, and they deserve the best.”
