Volvo and GMC Truck Leasing of Carolina has changed its operating name to Advantage Truck Leasing.
"We're making this change for two reasons," said owner Terry Young. "First, we offer many other products in addition to Volvo and GMC trucks. Second, we are operating in a geographic area that goes well beyond the Carolinas.
"Since our inception in September of 1995, we have competed successfully and profitably in our marketplace," he explained. "The actions we are announcing will ensure our continued success in an ever-changing environment."
Advantage Truck Leasing is a Charlotte, N.C.-based full-service leasing and commercial truck rental operation led by Bill Bradshaw, corporate vice president and general manager. It has branch facilities in Hickory, Raleigh/Durham and Rocky Mount, N.C., as well as in Greenville, S.C.
It owns and operates a fleet of 550 trucks, and also provides contract maintenance on more than 200 power units.
Advantage Truck Leasing participates in Ameriquest, a national network of approximately 350 privately owned facilities offering national road service.
Bradshaw said, "Our company, with all our associations, is large enough to compete with the major leasing companies, yet small enough to offer the flexibility and personal service our local customers deserve."
