The 24th annual U.S. Diesel Truckin' Nationals and Motorsports Spectacular, presented by Cummins, kicks off at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Sept. 16 at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, N.J. The day-long lineup includes diesel drag racing, truck beauty competition, monster trucks, jet trucks, and manufacturers' midway with 49 vendors.

An estimated 1,000 competitors are expected to roll into the race track when the gates open at 9 a.m. An expected 700 diesel-powered vehicles will be drag racing for a $5,000 King of the Hill top eliminator award. Diesel truck class eliminations start at 3 p.m.
Over 300 trucks are expected for the beauty show competition in 30 classes.
The Motorsports Spectacular Show starts at 7 p.m. with a six-way Monster Truck brawl featuring the WWF backed trucks of Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock taking on Grave Digger, Bulldozer, Monster Patrol and Carolina Crusher. Special guest WWF legend Mick Foley will oversee the WWF entries. He will also be available for a special autograph session.
Two jet-powered semis, Bob Motz's Kenworth and Les Shockley's Peterbilt, will perform together in a blistering fire fight on the quarter mile. Also on tap -- 315-mph jet dragsters and 5-second funny cars will conclude the show, which precedes the diesel truck final eliminations.
Sponsors include Cummins, Nelson Industries. Valvoline, Fleetguard, Y-107 New Country radio, and Truck Buyers Guide.
General admission tickets are $20, students 12-16 are $10, and kids under 12 are free. All tickets are sold at the gate on Saturday. Parking is free. Glass containers and alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
To get there: traveling north, take New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 8. Go east on Rt.33 8 miles to Englishtown exit, then north through Englishtown to Raceway Park.
Traveling south, take New Jersey Turnpike to exit 9, following signs south on Rt 18 for six miles to the Englishtown exit, then six miles south to Raceway Park.
Alternate route: Go south on Garden State Parkway to Exit 123, south on Rt. 9 eight miles to Texas Road, west three miles to Englishtown Road (527), then south two miles to Raceway Park.
