Starting May 1, Nissan Diesel America will be known as UD Trucks North America, which reflects the name change of parent company Nissan Diesel Motor Company to UD Trucks Corporation.


In conjunction with the name change, a new brand identity strategy will incorporate a re-designed UD Trucks logo and service mark, as well as plans for new dealership brand identification for the UD Trucks product line.

"We will strongly promote UD Trucks North America and the UD Trucks brand of medium-duty diesel trucks, which is one of the Volvo Group brands in North America," said Dayle Wetherell, president.

UD Trucks North America, headquartered in Irving, Texas, is the U.S. distributor for the UD Trucks line of medium-duty diesel truck chassis manufactured by UD Trucks Corporation at the company's manufacturing operations in Japan.
