Nexterna, Inc. of Omaha, Neb., has released OptiTrac 3.0 location tracking software incorporating street address detail.

This version of OptiTrac displays maps that pinpoint the real-time location of individual field vehicles or entire fleets with detail down to the street address or cross road anywhere in the U.S. The dispatcher can specify a customer address, and the software will display a map indicating vehicles nearest that location.
OptiTrac 3.0 integrates Global Positioning System and Geographic Information Systems technologies with wireless data communication to track and monitor vehicles. GPS data is captured by on-board sensors and transmitted wirelessly to Nexterna's operations center. Nexterna provides the information over the Internet to customers running the OptiTrac Resource Manager software.
OptiTrac 3.0 employs the latest "geocode" technology, which translates GPS latitude and longitude coordinates to street addresses, providing improved visibility of exactly where vehicles are.
At the driver level, Nexterna’s applications run on a laptop or handheld computer. Various communications options are available.
