Wireless Matrix Corp. has completed the integration of the Mobile Base Station (MBS) with two central products in Nexterna's suite of wireless fleet and service management applications.

Nexterna has completed the integration of the MBS with the Nexterna Clearview field service management application, and with its OptiTrac location tracking and management application.
The Nexterna Clearview package is a complete field service management application that is seamlessly integrated with a mobile communication system. It allows mobile service technicians to access back office information and update the status of work orders from the field. The Nexterna Clearview system is web-based and is wirelessly enabled by the MBS.
The OptiTrac application is an advanced location tracking and management system that allows companies with fleets of mobile assets to gather detailed information about their location, utilization and operation. It integrates Global Positioning System data captured and transmitted by the MBS with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technologies to track and monitor vehicle data. Real-time and historical information is presented in graphical maps and reports accessible via the Web. The collected data can be used for real-time vehicle management, for historical reporting and trending purposes, and for analysis of service territories and customer locations.
The MBS provides the highest degree of connectivity with mobile workers and vehicles by seamlessly integrating access to multiple wireless networks, including satellite, terrestrial and wireless LAN, into one device. The MBS can dynamically select the best communications path for any situation, eliminating coverage and congestion issues, while the wireless LAN feature enables un-tethered operations outside the vehicle or in buildings.
