McLeod Software's new LoadMaster Lane Analysis Module lets carriers use data in their system to help them figure out which lanes and loads are profitable.
The new software tool lets carriers analyze revenue and vehicle utilization using powerful on-line queries, pre-loaded reports, and custom reports. Relevant load data is gathered from Loads Entry, Dispatch/Movements, and Driver Settlement. The data is then consolidated on one screen, providing extensive load detail information.
Powerful features of Lane Analysis include on-screen queries by the day-of-week, revenue per hour, revenue per mile, commodity, shipper, consignee, bill-to, delay time at stop-off and pickup, bridge account, salesperson, and more.
"These options will allow the carrier to measure revenue per mile, as well as empty miles pertinent to each combination of shipping points," said Chuck Segrest, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for McLeod Software. "This will allow them to establish if loads will be profitable before they are accepted."
The module's on-screen queries also give immediate totals and averages for load revenue, revenue per mile, revenue per hour, and empty mile percentages. "Obtaining information quickly and easily on the number of hours spent loading and/or unloading, or determining the number of empty miles per headhaul vs. backhaul, are powerful tools to carriers," Segrest explains.
In addition, the Lane Analysis Module provides a tool for Driver Managers to monitor delay-time at pickup and delivery. This function will help reduce driver frustration and increase equipment utilization.
Lane Analysis reports can also provide individual revenue elements specific to physical lanes, as well as the revenue associated with subsequent loads for backhaul.
