Floor space at The Work Truck Show 2008 is sold out, with a record 534 exhibitors covering 203,400 square feet in the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
Eighty-one of these exhibitors are participating in the event

for the first time. The National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) also has increased the number of vehicles available in the Hybrid Truck and Alternative Fuels Ride-and-Drive to 14.
"The Work Truck Show 2008 will be our largest event to date," says Dennis Jones, NTEA convention chairman and vice president of sales and marketing for Auto Truck Group. "More than 75 companies have announced that they'll introduce new products at the show - everything from new chassis and bodies to all the equipment that goes on them."
The Work Truck Show 2008 is held in conjunction with the 44th Annual NTEA Convention Feb. 26-28, 2008, with the convention and educational sessions starting Feb. 25.
Among the highlights this year:

• Hybrid Truck & Alternative Fuels Ride-and-Drive
The Work Truck Show 2008 has a strong hybrid and alternative fuels component, starting with the all-day Special Session: Hybrid Truck & Alternative Fuels Summit on Monday, Feb. 25. All show attendees will have the opportunity to test drive new hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles at the Hybrid Truck & Alternative Fuels Ride-and-Drive on Tuesday, Feb. 26, and Wednesday, Feb. 27.
Two more vehicles were recently added to the line-up, bringing the total available for test drives to 14. (Note: A CDL with air brake endorsement is required to drive some of the trucks.)
Participating companies are: American Alternative Fuels, Chelsea Products Division of Parker, CleanFUEL USA, DUECO Inc., Eaton Hybrid Power Systems, Freightliner Custom Chassis, Freightliner Trucks, General Motors Fleet and Commercial Operations (with two vehicles), International Truck and Engine Corp., Kenworth Truck Co., Modec Electric Vehicles and Peterbilt Motors Co.
Registration for the Ride-and-Drive will take place on-site and is first-come, first-served. Summit attendees have the opportunity to register first, during lunch on Monday, Feb. 25. The Ride-and-Drive is sponsored by Eaton Hybrid Power Systems. The summit is sponsored by International Truck and Engine Corp.

• New Product Announcements
Ford Commercial Truck, Leggett & Platt Commercial Vehicle Products and General Motors Fleet and Commercial Operations are among the more than 75 companies that have announced plans to unveil new products at The Work Truck Show 2008. Many of these companies are participating in the New Product Spotlight program, which provides a sneak preview of new products on the NTEA web site. To learn more about these product innovations, click on "Exhibitor Spotlight" at www.ntea.com.

Produced annually by the NTEA, The Work Truck Show brings together vocational truck fleet managers, truck buyers and maintenance personnel from the Class 1-8 market with hundreds of the manufacturers, distributors and dealers that produce the trucks and equipment critical to their work. In this single location, attendees check out the latest full-size work trucks and equipment while examining individual vehicle components offered by more than 500 suppliers.
