Nelson Global Products is back in business with a new name and a mission to serve OEM and aftermarket customers around the world with products supporting the thermal requirements of complex diesel emissions systems.
Nelson Global Products, formerly named Global Tube, bought Cummins' commercial vehicle exhaust business in January, allowing Cummins Emissions Solutions to focus on products critical to Cummins' growth strategy.
Nelson Global Products is based in Stoughton, Wis., and globally manufactures exhaust systems and fabricated tube products such as EGR, charged air tubes, coolant tubes, exhaust tubes and its newest line of Thermal Management Tubing.
"Nelson is a powerful brand name and it's back in a big way to serve OEM and aftermarket customers around the world," said Tom Gosnell, chief executive officer of Nelson Global Products.
A 35-year veteran in the commercial vehicle industry who most recently served as a senior executive with Rockwell Automotive and ArvinMeritor, Gosnell has assembled a strong management team including Kevin Stokstad, sales director; Frank Gould, engineering team leader; Tim Rusch, operations; and Sue Vanderbilt, finance. Other senior key executives include Rob Guy, Doug Dole, John Wehrenberg, Joe Freeman, Ed Whipp, Rich Whipp and Rodger Butler.
According to sales director Stokstad, Nelson aggressively plans to reinforce its position not only in the OE markets but also in the heavy and medium vehicle aftermarket with a clear vision of wide availability in distribution channels "with the right products at the right time."
The firm is a portfolio company of Wind Point Partners, a private equity firm headquartered in Chicago. The company's operations include manufacturing operations in Stoughton, Arcadia, Black River Falls and Viroqua, Wis., and in Scoresby, Australia, and Pune, India.
