NAFA will hold its 2010 Institute & Expo at the Cobo Center in Detroit on April 24 to 27.
The annual Institute & Expo includes high-level networking opportunities, a massive Expo Floor featuring the latest fleet products, training and education, and other events.
The event will feature keynote speeches from Mark Fields, executive vice president of Ford Motor Company and president of The Americas; Robert A. Lutz, vice chairman of General Motors; and Peter Grady, vice president of network development and fleet, Chrysler Group.
One of the event's educational sessions, "Mythbusters: The Snake Oil Saga," will help fleet managers understand what to look for when evaluating products that claim to increase fuel mileage. It will also offer ways to explain the good products from the bad to their boss.
Attendees will learn a litany of the types and designs of products making claims on the market today and how they are marketed; what engineers and scientists say about such products (both good and bad); the results of several "real world" tests completed on a cross-section of the products currently available; and best practices and effective strategies to survive in ever-changing market conditions.
Other workshops include an OEM panel on "The New Role of Manufacturer Fleet Sales Management," and an education session on fuel efficient technology. Other sessions will explore "Modifying Driver Behavior to Improve Your Bottom Line," "Straight Talk from Fleet Leasing Executives," "Truck Supply Chain Management," and "Alternative Fuel and Advanced Technology Vehicles."
