Mitchell 1, a San Diego-based company that provides technical information for vehicle maintenance, service and repair, has announced that Scott DeGiorgio has been hired as the general manager
of the company’s newly created Commercial Vehicle Group.
DeGiorgio comes to Mitchell 1 with more than 20 years of executive management experience with leading OEM and component manufacturers. As general manager of Sales & Operations for Great Dane Trailers, DeGiorgio was responsible for the company’s highly successful aftermarket parts distribution.
Prior to joining Great Dane, DeGiorgio served as general manager of the Service Parts division of Grumman Olson, a leading manufacturer of vehicle bodies for the heavy vehicle market and as the director of sales and marketing for Red Dot, makers of heating and air-conditioning solutions for heavy-duty vehicles.
“Scott’s experience in the commercial vehicle service and repair market is exactly what Mitchell 1 needs to lead our new commercial vehicle group,” said Dave Ellingen, president and CEO for Mitchell 1. “When we had over 700 fleets sign up for a free trial of our Tractor-Trailer.net product within the first month of its release, we knew it was time to create a new division within Mitchell 1 that clearly focused on the heavy-vehicle sector. We have great plans for the future growth of this product line and we’re pleased to have Scott leading the way to its success.”
Mitchell 1 is a recipient of the ASE Blue Seal of Excellence award and currently employs several ASE certified technicians, of which many are either truck certified or master truck technicians.
The Mitchell 1 family of products includes a complete line of integrated software tools designed to improve repair shop productivity including Tractor-Trailer.net, the trucking industry’s first complete web-based heavy-duty vehicle service and repair database.
