The 85th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will be held on Saturday, July 21, and Mike Ryan will be there again, attempting to break his own record on the climb for a seventh time.

Last year’s hill climb was witnessed by more than 4,500 spectators, who watched Ryan set his 6th world record by three seconds with a finishing time of 12.43.66, claiming victory over four-time New Zealand B Class Truck racing champion, Shane Chapman.
The Outdoor Channel broadcast reached millions of cable and DBS subscribers and aired on four dates. This year’s Hill Climb will once again receive national television coverage with details to be announced soon.
Footage of the race truck at Pikes Peak is being featured in a three-minute Internet video for Phillip Morris on “What It Takes To Be A Winner.” In addition, the race truck was profiled on The Travel Channel’s “Outrageous Trucks” and The History Channel’s “Modern Marvels: Mountain Roads.”
Ryan’s race truck also appeared in the video game market. Colin McRae Rally for Playstation 2 will be released early this year. This game is for the die-hard rally-racing fan.
Also in 2007, Ryan will again be showing off his Freightliner Century Class S/T race truck at several truck and trade shows including: World Ag Expo in Tulare, Calif., the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky., Truck Show Las Vegas, the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, Truck Show Latino in Pomona, Calif. and SEMA.
