John Minor, president and CEO of Midwest Wheel Companies was inducted into the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Industry Hall of Fame during Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week in Las Vegas. This is the 11th year some one from the heavy-duty aftermarket has been named to the Hall of Fame. The award is based on a person’s selfless service to their customers, their industry and their company.

Minor started at Midwest Wheel in 1972 as general manager of the company’s Davenport and Dubuque, Iowa locations. Minor was promoted several times to positions of increasing responsibility until 1995 when he was named executive vice president and COO. He also served as president of the Council of Fleet Specialists in that year and in 2000 was a founding board member of HDExchange.
Minor joined the board of HD America in 2010; he was awarded the CVSN President’s Award in 2013 and in 2014 became a founding member of the GenNext Board. Through the years Minor has been active in the Iowa Motor Truck Association and has served on several boards and distributor advisory councils.
In 2015, Minor was named president of Midwest Wheel Companies and that year also received the Automotive Aftermarket Education Award from Northwood University. In 2016, her was promoted to president and CEO of Midwest Wheel.
In accepting the award, Minor said, “This is an emotional and special honor as I approach retirement.” He went on to thank suppliers and employees and others in the industry for their role in his success saying, “It takes many people to accomplish great things.”
