Midland Courier, a Canadian package delivery company, has teamed with Carrier Logistics Inc. to streamline its freight management system through the use of the CLI Facts operations management and accounting system.
Scott MacMillan, vice president of Midland Courier said the company recently completed its transition to the Facts system. “We chose CLI's Facts system because of its capability to support expedited freight service,” he said.
The system can achieve this result, said Ken Weinberg, vice president of CLI, through accurate load scheduling and planning, automated routing, web-enabled tracking and tracing and business intelligence reporting.
“The system is based on advanced open architecture and offers LTL and parcel delivery carriers a low cost of ownership by reducing administrative costs for rating, billing and dispatch,” he said. “Moreover, it automatically assigns freight rates to shipments and provides Midland Courier customers the ability to trace shipments online.”
Midland has begun using features such as the CLI web module enhancement, which answers shippers’ questions about rates, shipments, invoices and freight status through the web. This frees up time for carrier employees who previously dealt with inquiries over the phone.
Midland Courier provides next-day air and fast ground courier services across Canada. An integrated partnership network enables the company to provide a similar service level for shipments to U.S. and international destinations.
Carrier Logistics Inc., a transportation systems consultant and technology developer, has provided software solutions to truckers for nearly 35 years, keeping its core commitment to the LTL industry. The Tarrytown, N.Y.-based company’s customers include major Canadian, U.S., British and Australian LTL and other types of carriers.
The company can be reached by phone at (914) 332-0300, by fax at (914) 332-0949, via email at sales@carrierlogistics.com, or on the web at www.carrierlogistics.com.
