The Mid-Atlantic Professional Truck Drivers Assn. is sponsoring the 3rd annual charity FunDrive on Sept. 6 to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The event will be held at the Lee Hi Travel Plaza, Exit 195, I-81 Hwy 11 in Lexington, Va.
Classes include straight truck, three-axle, four-axle, five-axle, tank, flatbed, sleeper and twins. The competition includes a driving course -- no written test -- and an pre-trip inspection is optional.
Trophies and prizes will be awarded to class winners, those who raise the most money, longest distance from home, pre-trip inspection, and there will be a grand championship prize.
Drivers must have a valid CDL and pay a minimum of $50 in donations. Checks should be made out to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
A FunDrive supper is free for participating driver and spouse, additional plates for family and friends are available for $5 per plate.
Registration for the competition is 7 a.m., with competition at 8 a.m.
