The 27th annual Mid-America Trucking Show gets under way today at the Louisville Fair and Expo Center in Louisville, KY.
Organizers are expecting more than 70,000 people to attend the show, which features around 1,000 exhibitors, concerts, seminars and more.
The show today runs from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday’s hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Reba McEntire will kick off the first of three concerts tonight at 7 p.m., sponsored by Freightliner. Badged attendees can exchange a bright pink coupon they get when they register for tickets to the concert starting at 9 a.m. on a first come, first serve basis.
While exhibitors moved in and set up their displays yesterday, trucking journalists were treated to a special pre-show “press day” with announcements of new products and services.
Freightliner, which will be holding its press conference today, had one truck on its booth shrouded in secrecy early yesterday, with an armed guard on hand to deter peekers. But when we happened by later in the day, we snapped the accompanying photo. We’ll have news of their announcement tomorrow.
