Fleetilla Inc., Trenton, Mich., has implemented a trailer tracking solution for Mexus Transport of Northville, Mich.

Mexus has installed Fleetilla’s FL1700 devices in trailers that transport robotics and electronic equipment for the automotive industry. According to Fleetilla, the average value of a Mexus trailer load is more than $700,000.
Fleetilla’s trailer tracking solution provides fleet managers with a small GPS hardware device and real-time mapping tools to track fleet and trailer positions, history, mileage, operating hours and more. Maps and management applications are accessed through a standard web browser so customers have no software to install and maintain.
“We have won a few new bids as a result of having trailer tracking capabilities. It makes us a better partner for our customers. We have also improved our ability to manage our assets. Because of Fleetilla’s untethered trailer tracking capabilities we also know the position of our trailers that are not currently in use, which will eliminate the financial burden of lost and stolen trailers,” said Fred Assid, Mexus vice president of sales and marketing.
Fleetilla customers system can track fleet and trailer positions in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The company partnered with Aeris.net in 2002, providing coverage across 98% of the populated areas of the U.S. and 100% of the populated areas of Canada and Mexico. Fleetilla’s advanced mapping system has pinpoint accuracy allowing users to zoom in and out on detailed maps that precisely show fleet and trailer positions.
