Satellite Security Systems, San Diego, Calif., announced that Metro Fuel Oil Corp. of New York is using its FleetGuard application to secure and monitor 16 service vehicles and 40 fuel and oil tankers.
FleetGuard, a desktop application, works with Satellite Security’s GlobalGuard to view, command and control each vehicle in a fleet. GlobalGuard is a security communications and GPS tracking system that provides continuous security analysis for possible Homeland Security concerns where a fully loaded tanker truck could be used as a terrorist weapon.
“In our business it’s imperative to protect employees, customers, the public and the company itself,” said Paul J. Pullo, president of Metro Fuel Oil Corp.
Metro Fuel Oil installed GPS prior to 9-11 and supplied emergency services immediately after the attacks. Metro recently upgraded from an old GPS system to FleetGuard for features including remote engine shutdown capability.
Metro Fuel Oil Corp. operates in the New York City Metro area and serves thousands of commercial, industrial and residential accounts along with numerous New York State government agencies and the federal government, including the Department of Defense. They also serve many bus companies, fleets and local school districts. Additional information is available at www.metroenergy.com.
Satellite Security Systems has expertise in law enforcement, military, communications and investment banking. Clients also include the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service, U.S. Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Department of Labor, Fairfax County Public Schools, InterState Oil Co., The Salt River Project (energy and water utility), and more than 600 other entities serving various industries.
