Software developer Merritt Applications has launched a new web-based driver safety technology, eFleetManager.
EFleetManager actively gathers and monitors data, such as crash information, accident and Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs) from multiple sources. This data is analyzed based on the fleet's own business and safety rules. Drivers and fleet administrators are notified of reported incidents.
Drivers are also provided educational tools to minimize future crashes. Their performance is monitored and a complete communication system is established among the driver, his manager and the organization. Reports can be generated and reviewed to identify high-risk drivers, reduce crash incidents and minimize liability.
EFleetManager offers MVR and accident reporting, grading of driver experience, business rule analysis of drivers, email alerts and communication, Internet-delivered safety training and complete reporting and archiving. Driver data is analyzed based on the fleet's own business and safety rules. Fleets have the ability to incorporate their company and fleet organization's existing safety policies in the system or combine them with system default procedures.
The system responds automatically to new driver experiences. Actions include the notification of drivers about eLearning requirements, and alerts to managers and fleet administrators to enable them to address developments quickly. The system can be set up to alert the driver of new safety policies and broadcast safety training. Each driver has the ability to log on via a web browser and access their online driving record, review educational materials, take tests and review safety rules. A system administrator can generate reports, review information and manage the system.
