Nebraska-based Merit Transportation, a 100-unit trucking company providing refrigerated and dry transportation services, has signed a contract to use Expert Fuel from Integrated Decision Support Corporation of Richardson, Texas.

Expert Fuel is integrated directly into the McLeod dispatch software, using real-time fuel price information to lower fuel costs by providing an efficient fuel purchase plan to the driver at the time of dispatch. What this does for management, without any aid from a dispatcher is to route the driver using your company's preferred route, then optimize the fuel purchase locations and quantities, all within a few seconds. Then the route and fuel solution is then sent to the driver over mobile communications system using a company's defined macros.
