Yellow Corporation, Overland Park, Kan., has launched Meridian IQ, a non-asset, web-based source for global transportation management.
According to Yellow’s announcement, Meridian IQ automates order management, shipment optimization and planning, tracking, 24/7 customer service, settlement and reporting.
Jim Ritchie, quoted in the announcement as president of Meridian IQ, is identified on the Meridian IQ site as former president of Transportation.com, a Yellow web-technology subsidiary launched with much fanfare in March of 2000.
A recorded announcement at Meridian IQ’s main telephone number said the new company was "formerly known as Transportation.com." But the Transportation.com web site was still operational Wednesday and there was no mention of Meridian IQ on non-member pages.
Jim Ritchie’s office had not returned a call for comment as of Wednesday afternoon.
