The Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) has announced two new management positions: one to direct the association’s efforts in strategic services and technology, and the second to emphasize market research.

Chris Gardner has been named vice president, strategic services and technology. He will coordinate new association-driven activities reflecting an emphasis on core business processes developed by MEMA and its market segment associations: the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) and the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA).
Frank Hampshire has been promoted to senior director of market research for MEMA and its market segment associations. This promotion reflects the association’s increased emphasis on its market research and analysis services.
“Issues such as warranties and returns, excess inventory and data management continue to present opportunities to manufacturers for increased efficiencies and bottom-line improvements,” said Bob McKenna, president and CEO of MEMA. “Our new focus on supporting practitioners in production, warehousing, logistics, IT and supply chain will help the automotive supplier community take advantage of these opportunities,” he said.
“MEMA’s market research has long been known for providing the analysis needed to be successful in the aftermarket, heavy duty or original equipment market segments,” McKenna said. “Now, the association is initiating an effort to put even greater emphasis on market research as a key value to MEMA members,” he noted.
