Maptuit Teams With SiriCOMM for Fuel Optimization on the Internet
Maptuit Corp., Burlington, Mass., and SiriCOMM Inc., Joplin, Mo., announced they are working together to offer Maptuit’s FleetNav Express product through SiriCOMM’s national wireless network

Maptuit is a provider of map-based software and routing solutions. FleetNav Express provides routing directions optimized for fuel purchases over the Internet. FleetNav Express is aimed at the owner-operator and small fleet market and is based on Maptuit’s FleetNav Fuel, a fuel optimization program that is part of Maptuit’s FleetNav Suite of software for large fleets.
SiriCOMM is developing a national network that combines local area Wi-Fi hotspots – at truckstops for example – with satellite communications. The company offers services to fleets in the truckload or long haul business, but also provides Internet service to drivers at its Wi-Fi hotspots.
SiriCOMM currently operates about 260 Wi-Fi hotspots. Maptuit says the FleetNav Express service will be launched later this year.
“Through a network such as SiriCOMM’s, we will have our new online truck routing solution available to truck drivers where and when they need it – online when they are at truckstops,” said Jeff Papows, Maptuit CEO. “By accessing FleetNav Express through such a network, drivers will have access to the directions and routes they need to get to their customer safely, and on-time.”
