Maptuit Corp. has partnered with PeopleNet to provide Maptuit NaviGo truck-specific navigation content via its new enhanced driver displays. The content will also be integrated into PeopleNet’s PACOS Geofencing platform,
which will allow for in-transit geo-corridor management and out-of-route alert monitoring for drivers and the back office.
Maptuit NaviGo provides truck drivers with a safer and better driving experience by taking Maptuit’s technology and its community of 80,000 drivers, who continually send updates to its road network, and combining it with PeopleNet’s state of the art technology. Maptuit NaviGo utilizes internal electronic maps to gauge the vehicle's location and plot a course to a selected destination to provide drivers with audible, truck specific, real-time, turn-by-turn directions.
NaviGo will be a lead application for the enhanced driver display technology, which will enable new applications on both in-cab and portable, handheld display options. PeopleNet's g3 wireless technology provides always-available fleet locating and communications, plus a wealth of functions such as the patented over-the-air software updates (OTAP), vehicle and driver performance monitoring, PACOS geo-fencing and exception reporting. PeopleNet options range from automated driver logs and fuel tax reporting to handheld computer connectivity and proof-of-delivery signature capture.
