This year, two of the summer’s biggest truck shows will feature Makeover Magic events. First is the 18th annual Iowa 80 Truckers Jamboree in Walcott, July 10-11, to be followed by the Truckers News “Knights of the Road” Truckers Jamboree at the Alamo Truck/Travel Plaza, Reno, NV, Aug. 20-23.
A Wet ’n Wild lip pencil singled out by IN Style magazine as one of the year’s 110 Best Beauty Products will draw smiles on four lady truckers at each event. They will be treated to complete hair and makeup makeovers, free of charge.
Putting a fresh new face and hairstyle on lady truckers has been an annual rite of summer for the past five years at Iowa 80’s trucker appreciation event. This year marks the sixth Makeover Magic Truckers News has hosted there for women behind the wheel.
More makeovers are scheduled the following month during National Truck Drivers Appreciation Week at TN’s four-day Jamboree in Reno.
The makeover events’ product sponsor, Pavion, Ltd., creator of Wet ’n Wild, Black Radiance and Solo Para Ti cosmetics lines, will provide the necessary beauty products, from nail polish to star-powered cosmetics (IN Style’s preferred lip liner is reportedly favored by TV actress Heather Locklear). All the newest makeup looks will be represented.
In Iowa, the staff at Irene’s Beauty/Barber Shop will create the new hairstyles. In Nevada, resident scissors wizards in the Alamo’s new addition will do wash, cut and blow dry honors.
A limited number of cosmetic-only make-overs also will be performed, time permitting, at both shows. Women will be selected to provide a range of age, hair, and skin types. Participant selection begins promptly at 12:30 PM at the truckstop beauty/barber shops on the following dates: Iowa-July 10, Nevada-Aug. 22.
