The 10th annual Make-A-Wish Mother's Day Convoy will take place this Sunday, May 9, in Lancaster, PA.

The event is the highlight of a day of fund-raising organized by the Lancaster County, PA, chapter of Make-A-Wish Foundation Inc.
Typically, 400 to 500 trucks roll in, representing national, regional and local carriers. In the past nine years, the convoy has raised more than $600,000 to fulfill the wishes of children afflicted with life-threatening medical conditions.
Each year, truckers bringing in the most pledges the previous year get to lead the convoy. This year, the five leaders together sponsored and designed a souvenir 10th anniversary Winross model truck, which will be sold on convoy day for $50.
The convoy will depart at approximately 1 p.m. from Burle Industries in Lancaster. It will travel 26 miles to Ephrata, PA, and back. Burle Industries is located a few blocks west of the Route 23 exit off U.S. 30. Gates open at 8:30 a.m.
