Mack Trucks Inc. announced it will host a community open house on Father’s Day, June 19th, to celebrate Mack’s 100th anniversary in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley.

The event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at the company’s Assembly Operations located in Macungie, Pa., at the corner of Route 100 and Gehman Road.
Attendees will be able to walk a one-mile tour route through the plant, where all of the company’s construction and refuse trucks are produced. Antique and current Mack vehicles will be on display. The Mack Shop, offering apparel, gifts and souvenirs, will be open. Complimentary hot dogs and soft drinks will be provided and CAT Country 96 FM will broadcast live from the event.
Visitors who own bulldogs are encouraged to dress them up and bring them along – at 2:30 p.m., the first ever “Most Outrageous Bulldog Idol” contest will take place, during which, according to company officials, anyone who brings a “wackily attired” bulldog can compete for “fabulous prizes.”
The event is free-of-charge and open to all.
“This is our way of saying thanks to the local community for allowing us to make our home here for the past 100 years,” said Paul Vikner, Mack president and CEO.
