Mack Trucks Inc. is taking the opportunity of the upcoming CONEXPO-CON/AGG exhibition in Las Vegas, today through Friday, to showcase its heavy-duty construction vehicles
– and to express optimism about the truck market in the year ahead.
For example, Mack’s new Granite Axle Back straight truck combines all of the advantages of the axle forward model – including a large, strong, comfortable cab; best-in-class visibility; an ergonomically-designed electronic dash; and advanced electronics – with a new exterior featuring distinctive flexible fender extensions, sleek halogen headlamps, and available stylized bumpers and mirrors.
This tough new addition to the Mack lineup can be configured to handle any vocational application. Its set-back front axle is engineered to enhance maneuverability around job sites and maximize legal payload.
In conjunction with the show, Mack is co-hosting with Volvo Construction Equipment a major customer event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Meanwhile, Paul Vikner, Mack president and CEO expressed optimism about the future.
“Thanks to overall strength in the economy and pent-up demand, we expect that the market for our products will remain strong for the next couple of years,” he said. “And we will continue to do everything we can to meet high customer demand.”
“We’re also working very hard to convince our customers that pre-buying trucks leading up to the implementation of the U.S. 2007 emissions regulations is not necessary,” Vikner added. “We have a strong handle on this situation, and we’re confident that our ’07 technology featuring high performance exhaust gas recirculation provides an optimum solution for our customers.”
