Mack Trucks has introduced a new program to speed the delivery of emergency parts.
The new Mack PartsPlus program will typically have an order ready for shipment within hours of the call being received at a Mack Parts Distribution Center (PDC), regardless of the time or day.
“This is a new service that allows our dealers to improve their service to
customers who must have a part when our conventional next-day, emergency
service is not enough,” said Terry Ethier, director of parts marketing.
With PartsPlus, a Mack PDC employee will be dispatched to pick, pack and load the necessary material whenever a PartsPlus call is received. The same employee will arrange with a carrier for the next available shipment and notify the dealer of the expected arrival time.
“Because of different dealer locations and varying airline schedules, we cannot always predict the exact amount of time that this will take to complete. But we can estimate that the majority of parts will be delivered
to the Mack dealer’s location within eight to 24 hours,” added Ethier.
All Mack dealers have already been provided with PartsPlus instruction sheets that outline the proper procedures, contact phone numbers, PDC airport coverage, estimated delivery times and costs.
