The Parts Marketing Program for Mack Trucks Inc. and Volvo Trucks has been recognized for marketing excellence by the Transportation Marketing & Communications Association's (TMCA) 2007 National Compass Awards program.
The companies were recognized for their integrated marketing campaign for Mack and Volvo dealers. Only 8 percent of the entries submitted to the 2007 TMCA competition received an award of excellence.
"We are honored to receive this award from the Transportation Marketing and Communication Association in recognition of our 2006 Parts Marketing Program," said Joy Johnson, manager of parts marketing for Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks North America. "Many of our Mack and Volvo Dealerships are not large enough to fund a coordinated marketing program for their parts departments, and this program helps fill that gap so that they can succeed in today's competitive heavy-duty trucking industry."
The Mack and Volvo parts marketing program includes training opportunities for parts and service personnel, customer sales flyers, in-store promotional materials, national dealer magazines, national trade advertising and online reference materials. Nearly all of the materials are free to Mack and Volvo dealers. Nearly 99 percent of the companies' 400 dealerships participated in the program in 2006.
The TMCA awards program recognizes organizations in the North American transportation and logistics industries that have created innovative, results-oriented marketing and communications programs.
