LXE, part of EMS Technologies' Global Resource Management business unit, launched the Thor vehicle-mount computer.

The Thor computer houses an Intel AtomTM processor that features a dual operating system of either Windows Embedded Standard or Windows Compact Embedded. It uses the half-screen, full keypad form factor that LXE developed over three decades ago.

Thor includes several patent-pending features. A field-replaceable front panel allows users to replace a damaged panel without returning the computer to the manufacturer. Additionally, the computer will automatically recognize any changes to keyboard configuration. The Quick Mount Smart Dock allows removal of the unit, which has a back battery that lasts 30 minutes. The unit also automatically powers up with the vehicle.
