Chevron Products Co.’s Lubricants University web site has introduced a new training course called "Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Lubrication."
The course is designed to provide fleet and dealer mechanics, individuals involved in lubricant sales and others interested in diesel engines with an understanding of the vital role lubrication plays in diesel engine operation.
The module is a self-study web-based program designed for individuals interested in expanding their general lubrication knowledge. The course explains, in detail, the oil's path through, and its role in, in each area of the engine. "Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Lubrication" will help diesel mechanics and maintenance supervisors learn the fundamentals of:
• Parts and Operation
• Lubricants and Potential Problems
• Lubricants Performance Specifications
By furthering and enhancing the lubrication skill sets of diesel mechanics and maintenance supervisors, the "Heavy Duty Engine Lubrication" course addresses the constant need for easily accessible technical training. After successfully completing the course, the student will be able to print a certificate of completion.
"As engine technologies grow in complexity, continued education in regards to lubricants, coolants and new engine components is a necessity for even the best diesel mechanics," said Nicole Fujishige, commercial automotive business unit manager, Chevron Products Co. "The new 'Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Lubrication” course on LubricantsUniversity.com offers mechanics the opportunity to stay abreast of current technologies and issues, through the convenience of a web-based solution."
