Logistics.com announced the company secured 23 new deals in the first quarter of 2002, achieving 80 percent growth compared to the first quarter of 2001.

During the quarter, the company expanded its presence in the global transportation market, with contracts involving North America, Europe, Asia and South America. Logistics.com also announced a strategic partnership with online ocean portal CargoSmart that enables shippers to procure ocean transportation contracts, then manage their global shipments in real-time.
During the quarter, Logistics.com launched OptiManage 7, a comprehensive transportation management system that features rapid hosted delivery without capital expenditure, automated exceptions handling to minimize expensive "maverick" purchasing and seamless integration between transportation planning and execution to lock in the potential savings of a well-designed routing guide.
The company also upgraded its OptiYield Driver&Load and Drop&Swap carrier optimization products, which now run on PC's, eliminating the need for expensive workstations and making the product faster and more powerful, yet easier to use and install.
On the shipper planning side, Logistics.com's OptiBid e-procurement deals for the negotiation of transportation contracts grew 300% in the first quarter alone over the volume of transportation procured during all of 2001.
On the shipper execution side, OptiManage deals for real-time transportation management added over 700,000 hosted shipment transactions in the first quarter, delivering 325% growth relative to all of 2001.
Based in Burlington, Mass., Logistics.com delivers integrated logistics planning and execution solutions that guarantee cost savings to shippers and carriers, while maximizing service and improving capital utilization.
