Ruan Transportation Management Systems has announced changes to key leadership positions within the company.
Ben McLean has been named as the new president and chief operating officer. He previously served as executive vice president, where he oversaw Ruan’s western operations and the information technology, maintenance, assets and legal teams.
Mclean originally joined Ruan in 2007. In his new role he will have oversight responsibility of Ruan's more than 260 operations worldwide.
“Ben has demonstrated his ability to provide the leadership required to ensure the ongoing success of our company,” said Ruan CEO Steve Chapman. “He will undoubtedly continue its tradition of putting people first, providing exceptional customer service and giving back to the communities Ruan serves.”
Ruan also announced that Dan Van Alstine was joining the company as president of western dedicated contract services. Van Alstine has a background in the transportation industry and was most recently the senior vice president and general manager of dedicated services and logistics at Schneider National
Van Alstine will be reporting to McLean.
