Lanham Wins Another Charleston Truck Title

With the first-place trophy in the five-axle competition at the West Virginia Truck Driving Championships held in Charleston last weekend, Roger Lanham, who won a national title in 1985,
will get another shot at earning national honors this year.
Now an eight-time state driving champion, Lanham again has qualified to compete in the National Championships, to be held Aug. 19-23 in Columbus, Ohio.
A former America's Road Team Captain, Lanham has logged more than 3 million safe-driving miles during his 31-year career with Overnite. One of the most honored professional drivers in America, Lanham has served as a member of the West Virginia Governor's Highway Safety Task Force. In 2000, the American Trucking Assns. presented Lanham with its most prestigious honor, the Sontheimer Award for career excellence, given to the one driver who best exemplifies professionalism in the industry.
