George Thorogood headlines Kenworth Truck Co.’s 18th annual “Trucker Appreciation Concert” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 24, at the 2006 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky.

Kenworth is sponsoring the performance as a way to thank truckers and the trucking community for their support. “Kenworth looks forward to offering trucking professionals a special night of musical entertainment with George Thorogood and his band,” said Gary Moore, Kenworth assistant general manager for marketing and sales. “We appreciate all their hard work and dedication to the trucking industry throughout the year.”
George Thorogood has performed more than 3,000 live shows. Among the band’s hits are “Bad To The Bone,” “Move It On Over,” “Born To Be Bad,” “Get A Haircut” and “American Made.”
Last year, a CD covering George Thorogood and his band’s 30 years in the business was released in recognition of their many musical achievements.
Newcomer Jason Aldean is scheduled as the opening act. In 2005, Aldean’s self-titled debut album quickly went “gold” with sales of 500,000 units. The album features the Top 10 smash hit, “Hicktown,” which became the No. 1 music video on Country Music Television (CMT). His new follow-up single, “Why,” is rapidly moving up the charts.
The Kenworth concert will be held in Freedom Hall, next to the Mid-America Trucking Show and part of the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center.
Complimentary George Thorogood concert tickets will be available to CDL holders only (limit of two tickets per person). Tickets, while supplies last, will be distributed in the South Hall Lobby Booth No. 2 on both Thursday, March 23, starting at 1 p.m., and again on Friday, March 24, starting at 10 a.m.
