Kenworth's new K270 Class 6 and K360 Class 7 cabover trucks are now available for order, according to the company.
Kenworth has refreshed the medium-duty trucks with an updated exterior, dash and gauge cluster, front air disc brakes, electronic braking module, Allison six-speed transmission, push-button control shifter, and Dana rear axles.
Kenworth is targeting the vehicles to fleets in pick-up-and-delivery operations, food and beverage companies, furniture hauling, landscape businesses, and street sweeping and striping. The Kenworth cabovers offer tight turning and a shorter overall length ideal for city and neighborhood applications.
"Compared to a typical medium duty conventional, the K270 and K370 offer up to a 30 percent better curb-to-curb turning radius, a 63.4-inch BBC with an extra 45 inches of payload room, and a 35-foot overall length which is rapidly becoming the new norm in major cities," said Doug Powell, Kenworth's medium duty marketing manager.
A 6.7-liter Paccar PX-7 engine powers the trucks that provides 220 horsepower and 520 pounds-feet of torque mated to an Allison 2100HS five-speed transmission. The trucks are available with wheelbases ranging from 142 to 242 inches in 12-inch increments and can accommodate bodies from 16 to 28 feet.
