Kenworth of Birmingham, one of the largest heavy- and mid-sized truck dealership in Alabama, has been named a full-fledged franchise dealer for East Manufacturing.
Bob Mitchell, president of the Kenworth dealership, said he expects to sell more than 100 East trailers in 2006.
Although Kenworth of Birmingham sells East’s complete product line, the aluminum dump trailers are in greatest demand. “With the price of fuel, we’re experiencing a huge revitalization of the coal industry in our area of the country,” Mitchell pointed out. That, along with the monumental need for dump trailers associated with (Hurricane) Katrina recovery efforts and a “very strong” building and construction trade in Northern Alabama, combined for what Mitchell said, “seemed like the right time to partner with East. And we’ve had great success.”
Kenworth of Birmingham, now in its 28th year of business, also operates dealerships in Dothan, Mobile, and Montgomery, with 170 employees in all.
The Birmingham dealership is located at 2220 Finley Blvd., and can be reached (800)444-6170.
