Kenworth Truck Co. received the prestigious J.D. Power and Associates 2003 Heavy Duty Truck Customer Satisfaction award in the Pickup and Delivery segment for Class 8 trucks according to the study released today.
"This is a tremendous honor for Kenworth, our dealers, and our T800, T600 and W900 models that are used in this market," said Bob Christensen, Kenworth general manager and Paccar vice president. "This award recognizes the best Class 8 vehicles in regional operations in the U.S. and is a genuine reflection on Kenworth quality, reliability and performance."
Customers gave Kenworth products top ratings over competitors' products in major award categories including quality, exterior, interior, engine, and ride/handling/braking. "Kenworth refers to our trucks as the 'World's Best' and we believe that this award certainly demonstrates that distinction," said Christensen. Kenworth customers receive outstanding dealer support from nearly 300 North American locations and Kenworth's 24-hour PremierCare customer assistance center at (800) KW-ASSIST.
The J.D. Power and Associates study was based on interviews with 2,675 primary maintainers of 2001 model year vehicles. The study analyzes customer satisfaction in key areas such as vehicle performance, product quality, interior and exterior design, dealer parts and service support, and manufacturer image.
The Kenworth T300 also received the 2000 J.D. Power and Associates award for the highest customer satisfaction in a conventional medium duty truck.
Kenworth Truck Co., a division of Paccar Inc., is a leading manufacturer of heavy and medium duty trucks.
