J. J. Keller & Associates Inc. has just introduced CMV Driver Basics, a new video-based training program designed to help carriers comply with the new Entry-Level Driver Training regulation
(49 CFR Part 380).
The video presentation uses memorable visuals and plain-English narration to help address the four required areas of training: Driver Qualification (49 CFR Part 391, subparts B and E), Hours of Service (49 CFR Part 395), Driver Wellness, and Whistleblower Protection (29 CFR Part 1978).
Topics covered under the four areas include medical certification and medical exams, basic health maintenance, alcohol and drug abuse, stress management, fatigue, general hours of service information, drivers’ rights, and the complaint process. The program must be supplemented with additional training to meet the hours of service portion of the requirements.
The program is available in VHS or DVD formats.
The program includes a 40-minute video (DVD or VHS), trainer’s guide that provides training tips and techniques along with employee quizzes and exercises, 11 employee handbooks, an awareness poster, a training register and 10 certificates of training. Components are also available separately for training larger groups.
Keller’s CMV Driver Basics training program is available for $249 (386-DVD) The program is also available on VHS (386-K) for $199. These programs can be ordered by calling 1-800-327-6868.
