Karmak Debuts Director Series Software for Shop and Inventory Management
Karmak, Carlinville, Ill., has introduced its Director Series service shop and inventory management software for fleets, warehouse parts distributors and service shops

Director Series is made up of two main applications, ServiceDirector and PartsDirector.
ServiceDirector tracksl preventive maintenance needs, analyzes repair orders and tracks service time and parts. PartsDirector, available as a standalone parts inventory application, increases inventory efficiency and improves parts sales opportunities.
According to Karmak, ServiceDirector allows each repair job to be analyzed for profitability by generating and tracking repair orders, work-in-process, costs, dates, and even employee hours. ServiceDirector’s includes bar code scanning.
PartsDirector uses cross-referencing and substitution to reduce back orders. Users can quickly find, maintain, and track part and warranty information. PartsDirector enables tailored product pricing, performs on-demand cycle counting, uses reports to analyze profits, and quickly reconciles the general ledger to actual inventory. Periodic inventory counts and repeat entry can also be performed as part of cycle counting, readily identifying discrepancies and problems. Sales orders can be tracked from pick list to invoice. It’s an effortless way to sell parts, track cores, and register warranties. Purchasing options are simplified since the same part can now be ordered from multiple suppliers, transmitted via fax, or electronically transmitted to Karmak suppliers over the Internet.
