Joplin 44 Petro Sets Dates for Grand Opening
The Joplin 44 Petro will host Grand Opening festivities on May 20-21, 2011 to celebrate the opening of its new Super Truck Showroom and completely remodeled truckstop

The event will feature exhibits, an antique truck display, a Super Truck Beauty Contest, live entertainment featuring trucker favorite Leland Martin, fireworks, a ribbon cutting ceremony and more.
Joplin 44 Petro, located at I-44 & Exit 4 in Joplin, Mo. is just weeks away from completion of a multi-million dollar, 23,000 square foot expansion and remodel that features a new 15,000 square foot Super Truck Showroom. The new addition nearly doubles the size of the truckstop and features thousands of chrome, stainless, lights and other trucking accessories. The Super Truck Showroom also includes two semi trucks on display that sport the latest in truck accessories.
Joplin 44 Petro has made show trucks a main attraction.
"You'll find a bright green Peterbilt 379 named "LimeLight", that has a retro look about it, displayed on a diamond tread covered turntable and a teal and purple Kenworth W900 tractor trailer showcasing a mural that features our Country's greatest road, Route 66. They're amazing," says Joel Hamilton, general manager.
The Super Truck Showroom also features a wall of lights allowing drivers to see what every single type of available light looks like when it's illuminated. The vinyl graphics, custom t-shirts, embroidery center and laser engraving are all housed in a one-stop Custom Shop where drivers can create just about anything.
"We really have made this all about the professional driver," says Hamilton.
In addition to the Super Truck Showroom, Joplin 44 Petro has also expanded their food offerings by adding a Taco Bell, and a Blimpie sandwich shop in the Fuel Center.
Joplin 44 Petro is part of the Iowa 80 Group, based in Walcott, Iowa.
