J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Lowell, Ark., is using new programs and services developed by Transplace for management of drug and alcohol testing and compliance-related medical billing services.

These programs streamline the process for medical review officers and transportation companies to obtain, review and report test results and to provide billing efficiency. Transplace will also serve as the Third Party Administrator for J.B. Hunt.
Using its web-based system, Transplace provides an integrated management service of drug and alcohol tests from start to finish, providing complete visibility to the J.B. Hunt Designated Employer Representative to all tests. The system is designed to protect the confidentiality of the data during all phases of the testing and reporting process. Results are available to the DER immediately upon review by the MRO, thereby reducing delays in using new drivers.
Typically, a single testing event would result in three separate bills. The Transplace system consolidates billing into a single electronic source, reducing processing time and increasing accuracy.
Transplace has also developed a product called eMROplace that allows MROs to verify results sent electronically by the lab. Once the MRO verifies and confirms the test result, the J.B. Hunt DER is provided an email notification and the result may be viewed online.
